Housing SA is a division of the Department for Families and Communities.
We work with South Australians to create a range of accommodation solutions across the housing continuum. We aim to ensure citizens can easily access services, only need to tell their story once and are able to access accommodation and support when they need it most.
Tenants and homebuyers can access free computer terminals at Housing SA offices to help them find the accommodation and housing services they need.
We partner with other agencies to maximise affordable housing outcomes and provide an effective regulatory service for non government organisations providing housing services on behalf of government.
Housing SA has also recently established a number of agreements with key agencies to assist customers to access support services. These include:
- The Memorandum of Understanding with Mental Health Services to enable tenants with Mental Health issues to be supported in their tenancy;
- A Memorandum of Understanding between Housing SA and the SA Police to address issues of social disorder and crime within social housing properties; reassure and protect the community from crime; and promote community collaboration and harmony; and
- A protocol between Housing SA and Families SA for families at risk of eviction (where there are known child protection issues).
The Minister for Housing is the Hon Jennifer Rankine MP. Minister Rankine is also the Minister for Families and Communities.
Housing SA's annual reports are available from the publications page.
