Community Benefit SA assists disadvantaged individuals, families and communities by providing one-off project funding to incorporated, non-government, non profit, charitable and social welfare organisations to:
- Improve the well-being, quality of life, community participation and life management skills of disadvantaged individuals and communities
- Develop and strengthen communities across the metropolitan, rural and remote regions of South Australia.
Priority is given to funding a number of special needs groups including Aboriginal communities. In 2008/09, a total of 70 projects were approved for $988,000 to benefit Aboriginal communities, or 31% of all funds allocated.
Proposed funding rounds
2010 timetable:
- Round 29 - opens on Monday 25 January 2010 and closes on Monday 22 February 2010 at 5:00pm. Applicants will be notified in June 2010.
- Round 30 - opens on Monday 26 July 2010 and closes on Monday 23 August at 5:00pm. Applicants will be notified in December 2010.
