Programs for youth support assist young people under State care or Justice orders in their transition to independent living.
Youth justice
Youth justice programs administer community service orders ensuring that the needs and skill development requirements of the young people attending are balanced with compliance with their orders and community restitution. Teams within local district and regional centres provide these programs by:
- Supervising youth who are on court orders
- Working with young people to connect them with opportunities to engage in the community through voluntary work.

Community involvement
- The South Australian Youth Parliament Program
The program provides a unique forum for young people to have their views heard on issues that matter to them.
- Youth Advisory Committees (YACs)
YACs give young people, 12 to 25 years of age, the chance to have their say and influence change in South Australia, their region and local communities. Contact your local council orthe Office for Youth.
- The Youth Register
The register is used to match individual young peoples' skills and interests with organisations looking to include young people on their boards, committees and advisory councils.
