Companion Card

Last Updated Mar 2011

The Companion Card is a card (of similar size to a credit card) that is available to people with a severe permanent disability who require significant lifelong attendant care and support. The card allows a companion to enter free of charge to participating venues and activities and to travel on public transport free of charge when accompanying the Companion Card holder.

In South Australia the Companion Card is free and each card is valid for five years.

The Companion Card program is an initiative of the South Australian Government.  It is jointly administered by the Department for Families and Communities and National Disability Services.
