Children in State Care – Mullighan Inquiry

Did you make a submission to the Children In State Care – Mullighan Inquiry? You can get a free copy of the final report at Post Care Services - postcare@sa.gov.au. You can also get a copy of the signed apology which also has the transcript of the speech given by the Premier. The apology was signed by MPs church representatives on 17 June 2008.

To find out what has happened since Commissioner Mullighan made his recommendations, see the Mulligan Enquiry page on the SA Government's website.

Care leavers who made submissions to Commissioner Mullighan during his Inquiry (2005-2008) are interested to know if the South Australian State Government is going to provide redress to people sexually abused in its care. In his Final Report in April 2008, Commission Mullighan suggested in recommendation 40 that a Task Force that could investigate redress schemes in other States, receive submissions about such a scheme in South Australia and to consider a national service for care leavers. To be updated on progress in this area, put your name down for a Post Care Services Newsletter.
