Marni Wodli ("Good House")

Last Updated Sep 2009

Marni Wodli ("Good House") provides culturally appropriate supported accommodation options to 'at risk' Aboriginal young people aged between 15 and 18 years.

The service combines residential care, supported accommodation and assistance in securing longer term housing, with teaching independent living skills and delivering support services tailored to individual needs.

Marni Wodli works with Aboriginal community members to ensure the service is culturally accountable, as well as providing mentoring, support for Aboriginal placement options and opportunities for young people to develop, maintain and strengthen their links with their family, community and culture.

Priority is given to young people on Youth Justice Orders or under the Guardianship of the Minister but the service is also open to youth who are identified as being at risk.

Referrals can be made by Families SA Social Workers and Youth Workers.
