Goals
The goals of the Aboriginal Employment Strategy are integral to the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion Workforce Plan 2007 - 2012:
Goal 1 : Attracting our future Aboriginal workforce We aim to attract Aboriginal people to the organisation by being an employer of choice and providing innovative and flexible working arrangements that provide a strong learning culture.
Goal 2: Retaining our Aboriginal staff The retention of Aboriginal staff is everyone’s responsibility; our management will actively support the retention of Aboriginal staff.
Goal 3: Investing in our Aboriginal staff Learning is a continuous life-long journey and for Aboriginal people it is historically connected to their culture and traditional learning such as story telling and teaching life and survival skills.
Goal 4: Monitoring and Evaluating the Strategy A group comprising a broad range of DCSI Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff representatives, known as the DCSI Aboriginal Employment Steering Group, will be involved in the ongoing development of the strategy and will monitor the implementation phases.
