“Parental substance misuse and child protection: building bridges, building capacity” was a joint seminar held by the Department for Families and Communities and the Australian Centre for Child Protection on 9 December 2008.
Dr Helen Jeffreys presented findings from the recent DFC Research Unit project Parental substance misuse and children’s entry into Alternative Care in South Australia, 2006 exploring the relationship between parental drug and alcohol misuse and child safety. Speakers from both the child protection and drug and alcohol fields discussed potential strategies and responses to these issues.
